Officially a ‘Communication Friendly Setting’

We have now been awarded with our ‘Communication Friendly 2-4’s’ status which we are so proud of.

Over the last Year Jill has trained herself and then passed on her training and Knowledge all about communication friendly spaces within our settings. Since this training we practitioners have been looking and changing our areas to ensure that we are a communication friendly spaces to support and develop all our children’s communication opportunities and development.

We joined the Noddle Now E-Learning membership to ensure that all our staff stay up to date with all their training needs. Noddle Now provided further training opportunities covering topics suited specifically for early years.

All about the Jubilee

This week in Buddies we have been all about Jubilee, all about our Queen Elizabeth II.

the children have been learning all about how she has been on the throne for 70 Years, wearing her crown to look after us all. (in its most simple form)

Caterpillar Update….The caterpillars are currently moving their way up to the lid in preparation for their next stage. As the children have been monitoring the caterpillars growth we have supported them to notice growth in other areas, such as in our vegetable garden and in themselves by talking about birthdays and their height.

We as practitioners have also used the children current interest and provided opportunities where they can use their new vocabulary and interest in child lead play around our rooms. (see the photos on social)

Multi skills with @iaincolligan

Iain has been part of our Buddies team for a number of years. This term Iain has been using sponge balls to challenge our Ladybirds gross motor control, manoeuvring around objects, whilst at the same time supporting the children's Listening and attention skills.

The children all love their multi skills sessions and we practitioner have seen such a huge development with their gross and fine motor control.

Its all about the exploration of colour

in Thingwall this week the children showed a really interest in colour missing and as the sun was shining our Practitioners created opportunities for the children to explore it outside...

'We had set some water out with paintbrushes for the children to mark make.

The children extended their own learning by getting some chalks. One child did a picture with the chalk and then poured water on the picture.

Summer Holidays & Holiday Club...(filling up fast)

Summer holidays are coming up fast and as we all prepare for the end of this academic year, we at Buddies are busy planning a fun filled summer Holiday for all your little ones and all your childcare needs.

We will be based in Barnston from 22/7/22 - 12/8/22 then move to our Thingwall setting from 15/8/22-1/9/22

Yoga Bears… Sarah from Yoga Bears visits buddies each week. Sarah plans beautiful activities for each of our preschool classes.

Yoga has an infinite number of benefits for younger children. since Sarah started with us we have seen our children thrive in her classes. Yoga can Improve children’s posture, flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and motor skills. Helps children recognise and honour all emotions, learning to trust their instincts and many more

Its All about the Buddies Family/Team

We here at buddies pride ourselves on working together in such a way that we build a working family were we are all able to support and encourage each other. During May Polling Day Nicky & Jill organised a team building day and we all honestly had the best day working together.
