We are a highly qualified, experienced, graduate-led team.  All our staff hold a relevant minimum level 3 qualification.  We are keen to develop our workforce and offer up to two apprenticeships at any one time. All our team are committed to ongoing training, ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained at Buddies.

We are all fully trained in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene.

We are a caring team who excel at developing close relationships with our families, many of whom are now returning with their own children.

Key carer Approach

Children thrive from a base of loving and secure relationships. Whilst at Buddies each child is allocated a key carer, a named member of staff with responsibilities for a small group of children who helps those children in the group feel safe and cared for. A key carer responds sensitively to children’s feelings and behaviours and meets their emotional needs by giving reassurance when needed and supporting the child’s well-being. The key carer supports physical needs too, helping with issues like nappy changing and toileting. That person is a familiar figure who is accessible and available as a point of contact for parents and one who builds relationships with the child and parents or carers.

Records of development are created and shared by the key carer, parents and the child. Small groups foster close bonds between the child and the key carer in a way that large groups cannot easily do. These groups allow the key carer to better ‘tune into’ children’s play and their conversations to really get to know the children in the group well. Children feel settled and happy and are more confident to explore and as a result become more capable learners.
